Yeah! In my efforts to have less stuff in the house I finished a craft project this weekend using what I had! My cousin had her baby a couple of weeks early. I was able to give her a gift by finding a blanket I had crocheted but never finished (i.e. tucking in all the ends). So, I used one ball of yarn I already had in my stash to add a pretty pink border and finished the ends and voila! A nice handmade gift that didn't cost me a dime, at least not this weekend. That's a little something Jon likes to call "sunk costs." Meaning that it's money you've spent, you're not getting it back, therefore, make use of the resources. I am quite pleased with my efforts.

I Did It!

What If . . . ?
What if . . . we didn't go back to the ways we've always done things?
What if . . . we all lived in houses we could afford?
What if . . . we all spent less money than we made?
What if . . . we supported our local economies rather than buying everything cheaply at Wal Mart?
What if . . . we bought food from local farmers who grow produce and meat using truly sustainable methods?
What if . . . I use all of the craft supplies I have in my house before I go to buy more?
What if . . . I use all of the food in the cupboard before I go to buy more?
What if . . . we grow gardens in our yards, thereby requiring that less lawn be mowed?
What if . . . we all used manual lawn mowers?
What if . . . we all let the rain water our lawns?
What if . . . some of the currently unemployed were able to pursue creative careers?
What if . . . medicine focused on wellness rather than sickness?
What if . . . there was a grocery store I could walk to?
I'm just sayin'.

Stats
Sarah is now a whopping 18 pounds and 13 oz. and 27 and 5/8 inches long. She's growing so fast. Oh, and she recently learned that her finger fits into her nose. Funny.

How much I've saved on groceries in the last three weeks after trying out the Grocery Game. Totally cool. Click the link in the bar on the right and put my email address in for the referral. The real one, jencrutch(at)gmail(dot)com, not the one above that I haven't been smart enough to figure out how to change yet.
Happy Friday. And spring is coming.
